WIW fall transition

Hi, YLFers! I'm sorry I've been MIA. My new job is going really well, but it keeps me very busy.
I've enjoyed browsing the forum and Angie's amazing blog posts during brief bits of down time as I can.
It's still warm here in Texas, but I'm doing what I can to transition in to fall. Here is a recent WIW.
All the details are on my blog http://www.thedailysophisticate.com
Hope you all are well! xoxo

WIW and WIB :)

Hi YLFers! I've been gone far too long, and wanted to drop by for a quick hello.
In February, a lot changed in my life and I've been trying to keep up with it all.
The biggest change is my new (full time and busy) job. I love it, but it's keeping me super busy.
Here are a few WIW over the past several weeks.
I've missed you all!

WAY outside my "comfort zone"...

...yet I loved it. :)

I've never worn gray, black, bright blue, and navy in one outfit before.

It's starting to look a lot like...spring.

I'm hoping we get another month of "winter" in February, because January has been nothing but mild and even a bit warm.
I'm wearing my white blazer and favorite trouser jeans with a new blouse - a lovely Christmas gift from my sister.

Thoughts on this trench for my (imaginary?) lifestyle

I found this jacket that was nearly twice my monthly mortgage on sale for less than my car payment at the Rack.
It's Robert Rodriguez, and all leather. I do think it is "me" and fits my work wardrobe quite nicely.
And although I do live where it's warm, the jacket is not thick or stiff at all, in fact it feels more like silk.
But would it be more realistic to put the monies towards my dominant season?
What do you think?

Blue pants, star blouse

Fellow YLF member (and good friend) Ana and I have been taking the opportunity to meet up to take each others' photos (much to our husbands' relief!) once a week or so.
It's been fun talking style while we take photos!
My boss is selling his business and I am looking a the possibility of being unemployed for the first time in years, so I'm taking the opportunity to re-evaluate what I have and how often I do or don't wear it.
These pants do not get worn enough, in my opinion.

Pants: J Brand
Top and Jacket: Zara
Shoes: Nine West
